Objectives

 

The successful completion of this course will enable participants to:

 

·         Support the social and emotional learning of youth through the demonstration of techniques to address self-image, self-awareness, building positive relationships, and making healthy decisions

·         Verbalize the effect of your reaction/response to youth behavior and assess its effectiveness

·         Apply a decision-making process to guide youth in making healthy, productive decisions

·         Engage in appreciative inquiry to promote a stronger sense of self in youth

 

 

Audience

 

This course is designed for participants who work with inner city adolescents and have little or no training in understanding social and emotional learning.

Training Methodology

 

This course is designed with a very interactive and hands-on approach based on adult learning theory and it includes presentations, demonstrations, activities, exercises, multi-media tools, and a hands-on evaluation. The course is customizable to address specific requirements for your organization.

There will be a pre-assessment before the start of training and a post assessment and a student evaluation at the end of training. If led by the Institute for Workforce Education (IWE), IWE will also issue a training engagement report after the completion of training with assessment, evaluation, attendance, and instructor information.
