Course Description

 

This course is designed to provide knowledge, develop skills, and enhance the overall performance of individuals in the food industry who are accountable for performing internal auditing tasks. It provides the necessary skills to conduct an internal audit according to best practices and auditing requirements.

Audience

 

The target audience is individuals in the food industry employed by a company that is pursuing or has obtained a GFSI recognized scheme certification and is accountable for internal auditing tasks.

 

Required Prerequisites Courses

 

·         Food Microbiology basic course

·         HACCP and or Preventive Controls Qualified Individual Training (Seafood companies must have Seafood HACCP Course)

·         If GFSI Certified - a basic course for the scheme certified (SQF, BRC, FSSC 22000)

Training Methodology

 

This course is designed with a very interactive, hands-on approach based on adult learning theory; it includes presentations, demonstrations, activities, exercises, multimedia tools, and a hands-on evaluation. The course is customizable to address specific requirements for your organization.

There will be a pre-assessment before the start of training, a post-assessment, and a student evaluation at the end of training. The Institute for Workforce Education will also issue a training engagement report upon the completion of this course with assessment, evaluation, attendance, and instructor information. 

 

Instructor

 

This course is delivered by an instructor who possesses an extensive background in food safety. The instructor is knowledgeable about GFSI recognized schemes, and experienced with developing, maintaining and facilitating internal audits. Lastly, the instructor understands adult learning principles, and is experienced in delivering engaging and interactive training.
