Course Description

 

The course provides basic presentation skills to less experienced presenters. The participant will learn how to establish the purpose and objective of the presentation, analyze the audience, prepare and organize content and visual aids and learn pointers for practicing and delivering a presentation. The course culminates in the participant delivering a brief presentation and receiving feedback.

  • Establish the purpose and objectives of a presentation.
  • Analyze the audience for a presentation.
  • Select and organize content for the opening, body and close of a presentation.
  • Prepare and use such visual aids as PowerPoint and flip charts.
  • Use voice and body language to communicate a message in a presentation.
  • Manage audience reactions and questions.
  • Practice delivering a presentation.

 

Audience

 

This course is designed for managers who have little or no experience delivering presentations.

Training Methodology

 

This course is designed with a very interactive and hands-on approach based on adult learning theory and it includes presentations, demonstrations, activities, exercises, multi-media tools, and a hands-on evaluation. The course is customizable to address specific requirements for your organization.

There will be a pre-assessment before the start of training and a post assessment and a student evaluation at the end of training. The Institute for Workforce Education will also issue a training engagement report after the completion of training with assessment, evaluation, attendance, and instructor information.
